Daniel Valenzuela

  • Daniel Valenzuela is a senior at the Academy of Science (AOS) in Loudoun County, Virginia. The AOS is a competitive magnet school where students complete an integrated, inquiry based science and math program culminating in an independent research project in math or science. At the AOS he is currently studying AP Biology, Multivariable Calculus, and is pursuing an independent research project in math modeling which involves the investigation of encrypting digital information into the base sequences of DNA molecules for information storage in bacteria. His hope, in essence, is to create a “Biological Hard Drive”.On alternate days Daniel attends Dominion High School.

    Daniel has participated in a summer internship at the NIH, attended Governors School, is a member of DECA at Dominion, and was one of 4 students chosen to represent the US at the 2012 International Science Youth Forum held in Singapore.
