Conference Backchannel

A backchannel is where people ask each other questions, discuss related topics, or exchange ideas about what is being presented using an online presentation interface. This type of conversation enhances one’s experience while attending VSTE sessions and we ask that you take part in this virtual experience with the following in mind.

Code of Conduct for Backchannels

  1. Be Nice
  2. Be Relevant
  3. Be Open

In other words:

  1. No bad words. Do not talk down to anyone. CyberBullying is never acceptable.
  2. Your contributions should pertain to the presentation. Read your post several times before you press enter. When appropriate, include links to information or resources. You will make more of an impact by making a few high quality statements than a string of short posts that need to be clarified later.
  3. Everyone who shares has something important to say. Whether you agree or disagree with each statement, you will learn more about the world around you by listening.

More information on how to access the backchannels for each session will be available in advance of the conference.

Happy Backchanneling!
